Day trip to the exhibition “GLOBALE”, ZKM Karlsruhe and Badischer Kunstverein

28.05.2016

This trip is exclusively for members of the Frankfurter Kunstverein.

The internationally renowned ZKM, under the direction of Peter Weibel, is famous for its innovative exhibitions, creating visions of society at the intersection of art, science and politics. Extensive sculptures as well as interactive video- and media installations await us, allowing for new aesthetic experiences and bringing up for discussion the issues of tomorrow. For more than a year, the ZKM is addressing the two movements which define and shape the world of today – globalisation and digitalisation – under the title “GLOBALE”. Together with the members of Frankfurter Kunstverein, we would like to visit the final exhibition modules of this comprehensive long-term-project.

Travel to and from Karlsruhe will be organised conjointly with Deutsche Bahn. On arrival we will be given a guided tour by colleagues of the ZKM; subsequently, the exhibitions can be explored individually. A joint lunch in the city centre will give the opportunity to exchange our impressions. Following lunch we will visit Badischer Kunstverein and the exhibition “We Refugees – Of the Right to Have Rights”. Here the question of identity is a central issue, addressing aspects of gender, queer and migration.

More information on ZKM and Badischer Kunstverein can be found on their websites: www.zkm.de and www.badischer-kunstverein.de
