Normativity is the term for a commonplace phenomenon which at the same time defies explanation. What constitutes the force that makes us adhere to social principles, norms and rules? This question have been discussed by the professors Axel Honneth, Rainer Forst and Klaus G\u00fcnther. <\/p>\n
Rationality is the capacity to order and justify the human being’s relation to the world-whether the concern is with recognition, judgement or action. Rationality has to find justifiable answers to normative questions\u2013but what should constitute a critique of this rationality? Rainer Forst is professor of political theory and philosophy and co-speaker of the Cluster of Excellence \u201cNormative Orders\u201d.<\/p>\n
