He studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in Reykjav\u00edk and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, an influence that also appears in his works which link the mythic landscapes of his homeland Iceland with the dark atmosphere of Viennese Actionism. Sigurdur Gudjonsson\u2019s films are captivating in their unsettled ambiguity and eeriness. While his films avoid a linear narrative structure, sound, image, and editing are used as compositional means.
