In a former shopfront, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Michael Riedel<\/span><\/span>, together with Dennis Loesch and other artists, ran a space where exhibitions, concerts, readings and club nights took place\u2014often as copies or re-enactments of existing events.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"1074\">Using strategies of repetition, copying and overwriting, the cultural life of Frankfurt was taken up, mirrored and critically examined. Exhibitions from the nearby Portikus, for example, were staged a second time, while events were replayed in altered form. Actions such as \u201cGert &amp; Georg\u201d, in which two performers imitated the artist duo <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gilbert &amp; George<\/span><\/span>, created a parallel layer to the official art world. Formats such as the still ongoing \u201cFreitagsk\u00fcche\u201d also originated here.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1269\">In the lecture, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Michael Riedel<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Roberto Ohrt<\/span><\/span> will speak about this experimental project and its role within Frankfurt\u2019s art scene around 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Admission: \u20ac5, including entry to the exhibition.
