La La Land Tattoo Session with Oguz Sen
09.05.2026, 15:00
From 3 to 7 pm, visitors to the exhibition Hidden History – Facets of Subculture in Frankfurt Rhein Main will have the opportunity to get tattooed by the artist Oguz Sen, based on motifs featured in the spatial installation La La Land – Aufhören anzufangen.
La La Land – Aufhören anzufangen is a participatory work developed by the artist and activist Oguz Sen and the performer and choreographer Honji Wang, situated at the intersection of drawing and performance. La La Land understands itself as an open system that thrives on collective participation and continuous transformation.
Over several weeks, a large-scale wall piece is created within the space, developed collaboratively by different groups. Participants include, among others, people with experiences of addiction, people experiencing homelessness, individuals with migration backgrounds, as well as children and young people from supported contexts. They contribute their own experiences, perspectives, and forms of expression.
The process follows a simple principle: each group continues what others have begun. Drawings are expanded, overlaid, or further developed—resulting in a collective image that has no fixed conclusion.
The work creates a temporary, democratic space in which artistic production can be experienced as a communal process. The concept is transferable: it can adapt to different locations, groups, and contexts while remaining consistent at its core—starting, stopping, continuing.
Admission: €5, including entry to the exhibition. Registration is not required.
