At the bar with Hannibal Tarkan Daldaban / DJ set by Luzi Gehrisch
02.05.2026, 16:00
For decades, Hannibal Tarkan Daldaban has been an internationally recognised promoter and DJ, and a key figure in Frankfurt’s club and event culture. Despite his international career, he has chosen to remain based in the Rhine-Main region, where he has realised many of his projects. At the core of his work is the encounter between people—for which he continually creates new spaces and situations.
As part of the exhibition Hidden History, a bar counter in the foyer of the Frankfurter Kunstverein becomes a central meeting point. Through his personal presence, Daldaban activates the exhibition space and invites visitors to engage with stories of the events, personalities and places that shaped Frankfurt’s subcultural scenes of the 1990s and 2000s.
Together with Luzi Gehrisch, Daldaban presents a listening session.
Luzi Gehrisch, originally based in Frankfurt, began DJing around 2014 and performed regularly at the music club Robert Johnson in Offenbach as well as for the Leipzig-based label SIGN A BIT ZERO. In 2015, she moved to Leipzig, where she became closely connected to scenes and venues such as OTannenbaum and Sameheads, as well as festivals including Camp Cosmic and Braille Satellite, and has since played regularly in clubs in Leipzig and Berlin. In 2022/23, she was also part of the concert series Family Weddings in Frankfurt, which took place across various locations and focused on experimental live music.
Over the past ten years, a wide range of musical influences has accumulated within Gehrisch’s collection. She understands music as a means of accessing different ways of life. Her research follows this perspective and spans a broad spectrum of media and archives—from krautrock, electronic and experimental music to jazz and traditional forms.
Drawing on Gehrisch’s wide-ranging musical spectrum, a shared space for listening emerges.
Admission: €5, including entry to the exhibition. No registration is required.
Please note that the event will take place in German.
