Dierk Schmidt: IMAGE LEAKS

16.04.2011

*with Georg Bussmann (former Director Frankfurter Kunstverein 1970–1980), Reiner Diederich (Chairman of the KunstGesellschaft), and Holger Kube Ventura (Director Frankfurter Kunstverein)*

In his installation-based image series dealing with political-economic issues Dierk Schmidt is concerned with an expanded definition of painting as a medium through which social debate can be conducted and conflicting interests may be revealed. The exhibition talk with Prof. Dr. Georg Bussmann (former Director of the FKV, 1970–80), Prof. Reiner Diederich (Chairman of the KunstGesellschaft, Frankfurt), and Dr. Holger Kube Ventura (Director Frankfurter Kunstverein) explored the question as to how artistic images can address everyday political events and their historical origins.

This event takes place in cooperation with the KunstGesellschaft, Frankfurt am Main
