Lecture: You Always Take the Weather With You

11.04.2013

Lecture by Henry Keazor (Art Historian)

Since music videos are conceived to promote the song that the images accompany, one would expect the clips to generally involve weather promoting a happy and positive mood. A closer look at music videos, however, shows that things are not so simple. In many clips one finds very different weather conditions, such as rain, storms, thunderstorms, and snow. The lecture took a closer look at such videos and explained why these meteorological phenomena come into play.

Henry Keazor, Professor for Modern and Contemporary Art History at the University of Heidelberg, researches and publishes on the painting of the early modern period, music videos, the relationship between art and media, and contemporary architecture.
