Honji Wang: Performance as part of „Hidden History”
18.04.2026, 19:00
Honji Wang is an internationally active dancer and choreographer. Together with Sébastien Ramirez, she serves as Co-Artistic Director of the dance ensemble Wang Ramirez. Her dance language evolves from hip-hop and is shaped by influences from earlier martial arts and ballet training.
As part of the exhibition Hidden History – Facets of Subculture in Frankfurt Rhine-Main, Honji Wang will present a performance at the Frankfurter Kunstverein that brings together hip-hop and urban dance cultures with contemporary choreography.
Wang’s performance stands in direct dialogue with the exhibition concept. At the invitation of the Frankfurter Kunstverein, the Diamant / Museum for Urban Culture, Offenbach is a four-week guest at the Steinernes Haus at Römerberg. This close collaboration has resulted in a four-week cooperation featuring numerous actions, activations, and opportunities for participation.
Hidden History is more than an exhibition. It presents protocol spaces of historical and contemporary positions of subversive, subcultural activity in the form of installations, activatable spaces, visual wall newspapers, collaborative wall drawings, tape art, performances, and video installations.
Admission: €5, including access to the exhibition. No registration required.
