Schulstudio #4 “Painting History”

16.06.2011

The education program Schulstudio is geared towards high school students and carries out projects thematically related to current exhibitions in cooperation with regional schools. The central aim of the program is to enter into dialog with young people who are beginning to orient themselves in life, in order to facilitate creative processes and exchange about contemporary art.

The final presentation of Schulstudio #4 “Painting History” has taken place on June 16 at 7 pm. In conjunction with the exhibition “IMAGE LEAKS — On the Image Politics of Resources” by Dierk Schmidt, the 12th grade of the Liebigschule explored the topic of political posters. In a workshop on atomic energy the students developed poster designs together with the artist Dierk Schmidt, which were then realized through a professional printing process. The posters have been presented on a construction site fence in front of the Frankfurt Kunstverein.

Schulstudio was supported by the Aventis Foundation in conjunction with their cultural initiative “eXperimente.”
