Shorts

13.12.2010

The program “Shorts” presented a selection of short films having a key element in common: although documentary, they simultaneously use mechanisms of staged dramas. Sometimes real, sometimes fictive elements predominate. This is highly evident in the film “Living a Beautiful Life” (directed by Corinna Schnitt), which documents the luxury life of a couple in Los Angeles. The film ultimately reveals itself to be a staged documentary. To what extent a documentary filmmaker can act as a director is explored through other films shown on this evening. These included a.o.: “/…” by Michael Klöfkorn, “Yet Untitled (Pieces of Nature)” by Mario Pfeifer, “Graf” by Karl Kliem, “Boule” by Björn Ullrich and “Between” by Tim Bollinger.
