Studio Visit with Hannes Michanek

30.08.2012

Artist Hannes Michanek creates inspiring, large-format landscape paintings, which recall early Renaissance conceptions of the world. His compositions are wild collages of landscapes populated by a myriad of figures and suggestive of his native country of Sweden. His imagery seems to be full of references to historical events and figures.
During a studio visit Hannes Michanek presented recent and older paintings and offered insights into his work and working process.
