The Devil Takes the Hindmost — an Allegory for Immortality with a Tie, Music, and a Dancing Polar Bear

Situated somewhere between individual longing and social compulsion is something generally subsumed under the term of “growth”. A concept with so many different facets that it practically encompasses the entire world: becoming, decay, unlimited profit maximalization, mutation, expansion, and the desire for immortality. In an explosive performance lecture Armin Chodzinski explored the various perceptions of growth, asking what happens if one does not wish to grow at all.

Armin Chodzinski (*1970) studied art and has worked in the fields of management and consulting. He received his doctorate in the field of anthropogeography. His work deals with the relationship between art and economy, which is—as he states—distilled in urban space. Self-experiment is his method of approach, which is articulated in performance lectures, exhibitions, lectureships, and consulting projects. Chodzinski lives and works in Hamburg und Luzern.
