The mystery of black holes

10.11.2024, 15:00

What lies hidden within black holes?

Astrophysicist Prof. Dr. Luciano Rezzolla from the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Goethe University Frankfurt and Prof. Franziska Nori, Director of the Frankfurter Kunstverein, will guide visitors through the exhibition The Presence of Absence: Matter and Traces – Imprints of Life in Time.

In their conversation, they explore the mystery of black holes: from the groundbreaking images of the black hole at the heart of our galaxy captured in 2019, to the farthest reaches of our knowledge about the cosmos and the unique beauty of mathematical equations. They will also discuss how visual representations can help non-experts grasp scientific theories and how the invisible can be made visible—a question that has long linked science and art.

Please note: the tour will be conducted in both German and English.

The tour costs €5 plus admission. No registration is required.

We look forward to seeing you!
