Max G. Kaminski was born in Königsberg in 1938. From 1959 to 1967, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin with a two year intermission. In 1981, he became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Until his death in 2019, the renowned artist was exhibited internationally numerous times.
Kaminski “belongs to the generation that programmatically turned away from the dominant abstract art in the 1960s in order to go their own way in dealing with reality.” (Werner Timm)
“By its very nature, his work is a visual condensation of form and colour, from which the idea gradually grows together with the form. The title is never a thematic guideline, but rather a kind of organising echo in retrospect.” (Joseph Hanimann)
