Florian Haas Studio Visit

Florian Haas presents in his, naively seeming paintings, that are rich in colour, still lifes and landscapes that arise from his imagination. In the context of the exhibition “The Inner Life of Things” the artist shows us mainly in small and also large-size oil paintings portraits of mushrooms. These appears through a process of his sensitive observation and appreciation. During the studio visit Florian Haas spoke about the works presented at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in context of his general artistic ideas and paintings.

Florian Haas, who lives and works in Frankfurt/Main, was born in Freiburg in 1961. In 1983-1988 he studied under Peter Dreher at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. Florian Haas took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions i.e. “Mr. Zitterbart und seine Gäste” (2008), Galerie Heike Strelow, Frankfurt am Main and “Ten plus X” (2009), Galerie Ulf Wetzka, Berlin. Since 1998 the artist works together with the artist initiative “finger” based in Frankfurt am Main and Andreas Wolf, with whom for more than three years he is doing the project “Stadtimkerei finger”.
