Forensic Architecture Between Art and Architecture
Public guided tour

17.07.2022, 14:00

through the exhibition Three Doors – Forensic Architecture/Forensis, Initiative 19. Februar Hanau, Initiative in Gedenken an Oury Jalloh with Paula Maß

Forensic Architecture is a research agency that uses digital and investigative methods and technologies to investigate human rights crimes or acts of violence against social minorities. The collective’s work is situated between criminology, science and architecture and has gained international recognition in the field of art as well as in international courts of law. Their work is based on the assumption that the physical landscape is made up of different buildings, spaces, infrastructures, technologies and services that interact with their environment and are carriers of evidence. Architecture is thus used as an important witness in the investigations of Forensic Architecture. What is forensic architecture? What are its means? How can its aesthetics be described? How do art and architecture deal with social responsibility? This guided tour through the exhibition Three Doors looks at the self-image of the collective and the role of architecture in general in selected cases.

With pre-registration via e-mail to post(at)fkv.de.

The guided tour costs 3 € plus admission fee and takes place in German, guided tours in foreign languages on request.
