Pecha Kucha Night | Frankfurt014 @ Frankfurter Kunstverein

04.03.2010

In 2003 the Pecha Kucha Night was brought to life by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (Klein Dytham Architecture) in Tokyo. Pecha Kucha (Japanese for chat) consists of a uniquely entertaining lecture format with a rigid time constraint: Every speaker holds a lecture with a pre-set number of 20 corresponding images, each shown for only 20 seconds, resulting in a 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before it is the next speaker’s turn. Instead of following long-winded presentation techniques architects, illustrators, designers, artists and other creatives can present their projects, ideas, inspirations and passions.

The topic of Pecha Kucha Night | Frankfurt 014 @ Frankfurter Kunstverein was the exhibition “The Inner Life of Things” (Das Wesen im Ding). Thus all lectures related to the observation of the fetish, object or “thingworld” (Dingwelt).

The evening has been presented by Peter Cachola Schmal, Director of Deutsches Architektur-museum.
