Ken Friedman (born 1949 in New London, CT, USA) is an important artist and art theorist from the circle of the Fluxus movement. He has worked closely with Georg Maciunas, Dick Higgins and Nam June Paik, as well as with John Cage and Joseph Beuys. Friedman’s work includes mail art, i.e. letters, cards, objects and documentation of actions, exhibitions and other art projects sent by mail. More essential than the material objects is the continued collective self-creation of the network by its actors. Friedman has written extensively on Fluxus and intermediality and has received much recognition for his publications.
