The work entitled “21.6.71” (2012) by Wiebke Grösch (born 1970) and Frank Metzger (born 1969) refers to a wall painting by Blinky Palermo, which he completed in 1971 in the stairwell of the Frankfurter Kunstverein. A small watercolor sketch was attached at the time, but it was stolen just a few days after the opening. “21.6.71” appears as a letter informing the police in 1971 about the theft of Blinky Palermo’s watercolor. Irritatingly, it is a unique piece from the year 2012, which moreover seems to be available in six variations. The edition was created within the framework of the project “Kunstgeschichten im Steinernen Haus – To the People of the City” (2012), which was realized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Frankfurter Kunstverein at the Steinernes Haus am Römerberg.
