10 Reasons to be a Member #13 Jens Kabisch & Thomas Steffl. Kino ist für alle da

24.05.2007 — 08.07.2007

Opening: May 23, 2007, 7 pm

The exhibition circuit is familiar with the format of the video box. It is a conventional tool in curatorial practice, adopted by the artists Jens Kabisch & Thomas Steffl for their project kinderkino, an exhibition and cinema concept for children. By bringing the children cinema to the gallery space, the artists highlight the social construct ‘childhood’. After performances and exhibition participations at Whitechapel gallery in London and Haus der Kunst in Munich, they were then for the first time exhibiting the kinderkino as installation: a magical world, exclusively for children. In especially produced children films, the young visitors got introduced to different film genres. For a few minutes doors opened to another world.
